Get to know Bissan (aka Bissou)

A family kitchen, grown with care.

Bissou's began with the food we wanted our own family to eat: generous, comforting and thoughtfully made.

Chef Bissou and family

Meet Chef Bissou

Food has always been personal.

Food has always been personal to me. I grew up between Ghana and Lebanon, surrounded by different cultures, flavours and family traditions. Some of my earliest memories are of watching my grandmother cook, learning from her and, of course, tasting everything along the way.

I never trained as a chef. I actually started my career as a primary school teacher, but cooking was always where I felt most at home. Raising my family in the Gulf introduced me to people from all over the world, while traveling opened my eyes to new ingredients, flavours and ways of cooking. Each experience found its way, little by little, into my own kitchen.

Bissou's grew from that journey: the food I grew up with, the flavours I discovered along the way, and the meals I cook today. I’ve always believed good food doesn’t need shortcuts or excess. It needs good ingredients, care and a little soul. That’s still how I cook today.

What matters to us

The things we won’t compromise on.

02

Freshly prepared

We cook fresh, with quality ingredients and the same care we bring to our own family table.

03

Adaptable by nature

Different needs shouldn’t mean different standards. We adapt where we can, without losing the flavour and comfort that make it Bissou's.

04

No shortcuts

Good food doesn’t need excess oil, heavy fats or shortcuts. Good ingredients, thoughtful cooking and care do the work.
